If you're actually serious about learning this language, Carlos is your guy. If you put in the work outside the classroom, Carlos will take you to the next level. I personally started with a foundation of about a month's work of studying then started working with Carlos in late December in person. I swear two hours with Carlos is worth 10 hours in the classroom. I have put in the time and at this point about 3 months in with Carlos I can speak fluidly with most people. Nearly everyone comments that my Spanish is very good given the amount of time I've spent. He's very strict but I think for a serious learner it's the right approach. I had a bunch of different Spanish teachers in different countries when I was trying to learn, but Carlos was without a doubt the best! He kept the classes moving so it never got boring, used some great techniques to get us talking and conversing in Spanish (so because I wanted to communicate something, I remembered it better, instead of simply being obliged to complete the exercise) - and he had plenty of games and other ways of taking me around the city to learn instead of staying in the classroom all day. Really, the classes were super dynamic and fun, and I really looked forward to going to them. Highly, highly recommend Carlos !

Carlos came highly recommended when I was in the process of buying a home in Medellín. I reached out to him on the phone and after a brief conversation, I felt certain that he was exactly the kind of Spanish teacher I was looking for and offered to buy his largest package deal up front. He suggested I wait and take a lesson with him first to see if I liked his style of teaching before I spent all that money. So I met with Carlos that initial session and was really impressed. He had this really unique way of teaching that resonated with me in a way that made learning remarkably fluid. After only one lesson, I was all in and paid him for the 80 hour package.
